About Silk and Lace Boudoir

During a heart-wrenching divorce, I found myself with a broken spirit and my confidence in myself was at an all-time low. Getting divorced and feeling helpless weren’t exactly on my bucket list and I found myself at a crossroads: did I crumble under the pressure of disappointment, or did I use my life experiences to reinvent myself and become my own version of the confident, empowered women I’d always admired? Obviously, I chose the latter.

I realized that the women I admired all had one major thing in common — and I was terrified of it. These women were honest, vulnerable, authentic, and unapologetic about who they were. So, I did the most honest, vulnerable, authentic, and unapologetic thing I could think of: I stripped down to my bare skin and had a stranger take photos of me.

Since that defining moment, I vowed to love myself for who I am and help other women do the same. And today, I do just that as the CEO and Creative Director of Silk & Lace Boudoir, a 5-star women’s empowerment photography studio whose mission is to inspire, empower, and celebrate, every woman who walks through our doors.

Hello! My name is Joie Blake and I am a bridal and special event luxury hairstylist and makeup artist. I specialize in airbrush makeup and my signature makeup style is soft glam, although i also love doing natural and full glam looks, as well. I love doing all different kinds of hairstyles from sexy boudoir hair to detailed bridal updos. I absolutely love creating custom looks for each of my clients, bringing their true vision and inner beauty to life! My favorite part of my job is helping my clients see the most beautiful parts of themselves and to give them that little boost of confidence that radiates from within. My energy is fun and fresh and I love to connect on more than a small talk level. Each of my clients is unique and I enjoy getting to know their story. I believe that makeup and hairstyling can be custom for any and everyone and my job is to help your vision come to life!

I’m Kira Sanders. I’ve been with Silk and Lace since 2018. I actually started out as a client…and it has blossomed into an incredible work relationship. I’ve been married to my wonderful husband for 17 years and I’m a mother of 3 awesome kiddos who love to give me a run for my money.

Making people feel beautiful is my passion. I’ve been a licensed beauty professional for over a decade and I have loved every minute of it. I’ve had incredible opportunities to work in amazing places all over the world. Whether it is in a high end salon, NY Fashion week, a movie set or your wedding day, my aim is to make everyone who sits in my chair feel their absolute best. I can’t wait to work with you!
